Night Dinner
The
participants will be welcomed by a waiter and a waitress
dressed in folk costumes offering the guests zivania
(Cyprus Schnapps), ouzo, raisins, sountziouko (a sweet
nut delicacy). A sumptuous dinner
with a local color in food and drink with many traditional
dishes of the
Cypriot Cuisine (see
menu). followed
by Cyprus folk dancing, other Greek dances and plenty
of Greek music. This will be
an experience not to be missed.

Area Sightseeing
Thursday (Half Day), CY £ 9.00
Come with us and explore the ancient City Kingdom of Curium. First we
shall visit the ancient theatre which dates back to Greco-Roman Times.
Today it still hosts ancient and modern drama performances. Then we shall
explore the nearby house of Eustolios which is famous for its mosaics
and bathing facilities. Next, we shall visit Kolossi Castle which was
built by the Crusaders during the 13 th Century and rebuilt in the 15
th Century B.C. The Kolossi Castle for some time had become the headquarters
of the Order of St. John´s Knights. Our next stop will be at the
medieval castle in the heart of Limassol where Richard the Lionheart
married Berengaria. Here you will have the opportunity (optional not
included), to catch the Time Machine and experience 10,000 years of Cyprus
History
in a moving theatre. Short time will be given for shopping before ending
the tour with a visit to a local winery where you can see the traditional
way of producing wine and spirits. Here you will have the opportunity
to taste and buy some of the best wines and beers of Cyprus.

Ancient
Pafos
Friday (Full Day), CY£ 12,00
A visit to Ancient Paphos is a must! We travel through the picturesque
avocado and citrus plantations of Fassouri and continue through the British
Sovereign Base (SBA) of Episkopi. Then we have a short stop for coffee
at the breathtaking area, where according to the legend, Aphrodite (the
goddess of beauty and love), arose from the foaming waters (there is
an amazing greek mythology myth). Continuing into Paphos, we pass by
the Pillar of St. Paul where the famous Saint was tortured by the Romans
and the Catacomb of Saint Solomoni (the handkerchief tree). Next we visit
the very impressive Tomb of the Kings, carved inside rock, which are
huge and striking, used also by the first Christians to avoid their martyrical
death. Time for lunch is given at the romantic Paphos Harbour where there
is a great selection of tavernas. After lunch we visit the Dionysos House
which contains some of the finest mosaics around the world and acknowledged
by UNESCO. Last stop is Yeroskipou where we will have a stop at the church
of Saint Paraskevi , an excellent example of Byzantine architecture of
the ninth century A.D., famous for its fresco paintings and five domes.
In this village we will taste loukoumia, the famous traditional delights
of Paphos.

Troodos-Kykko
Monastery
Thursday(Full Day), CY£ 11.00
A memorable day off the beaten track, through idyllic mountain villages
unchanged for generations. We pass just below Mount Olympus , the highest
peak in Cyprus , with an altitude of 1961 meters and take in the panoramic
views from Troodos Square . We proceed to “Throni”, to see the Tomb of
Archbishop Makarios III, the first President of Cyprus. Enjoy the spectacular
views of the countryside and pine forests as we drive to the famous Holy
Monastery of Kykkos, which was built in 1092 and dedicated to the Virgin
Mary. It houses one of the three surviving icons painted by St.Luke.
A break for lunch will be taken in a nearby restaurant. A Panoramic descent
will bring you back to your hotel.

Lefkosia
(Nicosia)-Lefkara
Friday(Full Day), CY£ 11,00
Visit the only divided capital in the world. We enter Lefkosia by driving
along the Green Line, the capital's dividing line. Passing by the newly
resorted Famagusta gate, we proceed to the Archbishop's Palace where
we will visit St. John's Cathedral. We then travel to the city centre
and visit the Byzantine Museum with its priceless and fascinating collection
of icons and paintings. Our tour continues to the shopping centre and
picturesque old quarter of “Laiki Yitonia” where you will have time for
lunch and a stroll around the charming winding alley lined with shops
and galleries. We leave Lefkosia and proceed to the village of Lefkara
which is famous for its handmade lace, known as “Lefkaritika” and silverware.
It is said that Leonardo da Vinci visited the village and bought an altar
cloth which he donated to the Milan Cathedral.

Akamas
Safari
Every Day(Full Day),

Discover
the mysterious and unexplored territory of Akamas
and make your way through the Avagas Gorge with
its sheer limestone walls rising above you. A
short drive ends at Lara Bay , one of the last
breeding grounds for the large Green backed Turtles.
We then proceed to the Akamas forest, continuing
to the edge of the northern peninsular where
according to legend, Aphrodite bathed with her
lover Adonis in the baths of Aphrodite. The legend
goes that if you bathe in the waters of her bath,
you will have eternal youth!!! We have a delicious
lunch with wine before continuing on to our last
stop at Skouli village where at a small extra
charge you can see an interesting collection
of endemic snakes and reptiles. An extraordinary
experience not to be missed.

Troodos
Safari
Every Day (Full Day),

An
exploring trip of the Green heart of Cyprus in
a 4 x 4 landrover defender. We begin our journey
travelling through rugged hills and valleys,
various picturesque villages and pine forests
reaching some of the most remote places on the
island. A thrilling drive towards Platres will
bring us to the waterfalls located in a paradise
like spot with its lush vegetation, cool spring
waters and lovely scents. The safari continues
to the islands' highest peak, Mount Olympus ,
at an altitude of 1951 metres. We stand on the
throne of the Ancient Gods and marvel at the
panoramic view. Our next stop will be for a relaxing
lunch at a traditional mountain village. We continue
west of Pedoulas until we arrive at the famous
Kykko monastery which houses the icon of the
Virgin Mary painted by St. Luke. Then we head
for a wine producing village where we have our
last coffee break before making our way back
to the hotels. Please note that modest attire
is required when visiting monasteries and churches
(no shorts or low-cut blouses).

CY£5.00 per person (the normal cost for the time
machine is CY£7 per person). If there are any
children up to 12 years of age-half price.
