Cyprus,
the island of Aphrodite , the Goddess of peace, harmony,
beauty and love is the third largest Mediterranean island,
after Sicily and Sardinia , situated in the eastern part.
In
the course of its 10000 years history the island has
been a cultural and trade meeting place of great importance.
Traces of Hellenic, Roman and Venetian cultures are
found everywhere. The
island's natural beauty, golden sandy beaches, green
mountains, nature walks in still unspoiled areas, a
varied nightlife, good shopping and good food coupled
with advanced telecommunications and latest technology
make Cyprus the perfect conference and holiday destination.

The
population of Lemesos is 163 900. The
second largest city, on the southern coast, it is the island's
main port, the centre of the wine industry and a bustling
holiday resort. Lemesos is the second largest city of Cyprus
, on the southern coast. It emerged out of the two ancient
kingdoms of Amathus and Kourion both of which are extensively
excavated. Richard I the Lion-Heart in 1191 married to
Berengaria of Navarre in the chapel of a castle fortress,
now a regional museum and one of only two surviving buildings
of the period. Lemesos is is a cosmopolitan and lively
town and a bustling holiday resort with many high standard
hotels. A visitor can enjoy a stroll in the old city, can
visit the archaeological sites and the museums, or can
take a guided tour to the old town of Amathus (near the
Amathus Berach Hotel), to Kolossi castle, Kourion and other
sites of interest elsewhere on the island. Of course one
can just lie on beautiful sandy beaches ...and relax.
